About

What Room Recipes is for

Most decor advice assumes you own the place, have a spare room, and can knock out a wall. Room Recipes assumes the opposite: that you are working with the space you have, a landlord who says no, and a budget with a ceiling.

So every post here is built around one idea — a room is a formula, not a shopping list. Get the layout, the light and the proportions right, and cheap furniture looks considered. Get them wrong, and expensive furniture still looks off.

How I write these

Each post covers one room or one problem, with specific choices instead of vague inspiration. Where I recommend a product, I say what it actually does well and where it falls short. Where a trick only works in certain rooms, I say which ones.

I would rather give you five things that work than thirty things that photograph well.

Who is behind it

[EDIT THIS SECTION — readers and ad networks both want a real person here. Two or three sentences: who you are, where you live, what got you into decorating small spaces, and why anyone should trust your take. This is the single highest-value paragraph on the site for trust.]

How this site makes money

Room Recipes earns through affiliate links and display advertising. If you buy something through a link here, I may earn a small commission at no extra cost to you. That never changes what I recommend or what I say about it — if something is not worth your money, I say so.
